What we do:

Dented Pen Consulting provides database web application development services. We work with you to create a software system that tracks exactly the information you want it to.

Our goal is to make it easy for you to manage your company's data no matter what your level of experience. We use our teaching skills and patience to work with you through the sometimes difficult process of conceptualizing, using and understanding a new software program.

All applications developed at Dented Pen are created with the Qrimp Platform, a unique development tool that allows us to build relational database applications quickly and cost-effectively. We can also help those of you who are familiar with HTML, CSS, Javascript and SQL to learn to use this Platform to manage and build your own applications, if desired.

In addition, Dented Pen provides services to business owners who are currently using the Qrimp Platform to manage their own applications and wish to subcontract all or part of their development work.

How it works:

To get started, we will meet either in person or by teleconference to discuss your data management needs. I will ask you questions about how your business works and which type of information you would like to capture in the program.

After our initial discussion I create a "first draft" of your data model, which I review with you. After we have agreed on scope and time frame, I then proceed to build your application. This process can be completed in as little as a day depending on the complexity of your organization.

Once the basic framework of the application is built, I create a login and password for you. I take the time to walk you through the application and how it works, and listen to your feedback. Any changes that we agree upon are then implemented in a second round of development.

This "iterative development" process continues until you are completely satisfied.

After development:

If at any time you wish to change security settings, add more users to your application, change the look and feel of your application, track additional data, or make any other changes, simply contact me and let me know. Due to the nature of the Qrimp development tool, most changes can be implemented within minutes to hours to a day or two.

Application Hosting:
Your data has to be stored on a computer somewhere! You can choose whether you would like your database to be hosted in a secure managed server environment (external Hosting Provider) or have it installed on your company's server or on your PC. Hosting fees start at $10/month for managed server hosting or $99/year for local installation. Please contact me for more details.

Consultation Time: $25/hr

Time is billed in half hour increments.
